Our trails are an amazing way to explore the beauty of the Wakkerstroom area and we often see buck, many different species of birds, small mammals like meercats who observe with interest as we pass by and a host of wild flowers. We have discovered Bushman paintings in several hidden caves higher up in the hills. Our trail horses are steady and reliable and carry their rider’s safely over rough terrain, across streams and down into lush green valleys. We often meet up with herds of cattle grazing peacefully and a herd of wild horses is a regular sighting.

We are happy to lead nervous riders from another horse and we also offer pony rides for children in a safe enclosed area at our Plumtree Stables and Ambleside Stud bases by prior arrangement.

All riders are required to sign an indemnity form and wear safety helmets which we provide. Long pants like jeans are a must as we pass through thorn bush at times. Our trail saddles are comfortable and well maintained and our rides are approximately 2 and a half hours and there are lovely stretches for experienced riders to canter. The views are spectacular and we invite you to join us and make beautiful memories to take home with you. We do take photos along the route and cooldrinks or bottled water are carried along in saddle bags.
