Wakkerstroom Conference and Function Centre
Operation Snow Drop and The Garret had a very successful Mandela day on the 17 July 2018, by hosting 65 grade 10 students from Uthaka High School in Wakkerstroom to a motivational movie, “Beyond the River”, popcorn, slush puppy’s and lunch @ The Bioscope.
The following day, Ina and Ian handed out 100 pairs of new school shoes to less fortunate students and thank the following people for their generous donations. Rita Wiesseman, Peter Naylor & Sue Picken, Marilyn Jones, The Garret, Phillip & Rita Schoeman, Twice is Nice, Fikile Masondo, Bobby Barnardo, R. Blatch, and an anonymous donation. We believe these shoes go a long way in helping the students during their school years.

The BIOSCOPE offers a flexible multi-function venue situated in the heart of Wakkerstroom
Ideal for small conferences, weddings, seminars, training groups
This beautiful newly-renovated space painstakingly kept in the original style of the original 1880 bioscope, also houses the Wakkerstroom Information Centre and an art gallery and has a large outdoor space which can be used for stalls, outdoor activities, children’s events, etc.
The main venue can seat 100 pax theatre/classroom style, or 50 pax with conference tables.
Standard Conference Equipment includes:
Projector, Screen, Quality Sound System, Flipchart, Notepads & Pens, Extension Leads. All other Equipment can be hired in at additional costs & are for client’s own account.
Catering can be arranged.
