Groenvlei Loop – 38 kms
This starts along the gravel road to Utrecht and climbs up towards Ossewa Kop.
At 5.7kms from the start, turn left along the Piet Retief Rd. Follow this road as it goes down into a valley and up the other side. It passes a high point of around 2000m and goes down the other side to cross a river at the bottom. Just after the river turn off on the road leading off to the left (15km from the start). This road runs along the bottom of a valley for 8kms and meets the Groenvlei / Wakkerstroom road.
Turn right and head back to Wakkerstroom 15kms away. There are only 2 climbs on this stretch with the main one being the climb back up over Ossewa Kop. The 4km downhill all the way back into town makes the climb worthwhile.
