A re-match has been called following the competition in December.
We are therefore again inviting competitors to braai their own meat burgers and to assemble these into a gourmet hamburger roll for judging. The best and second best all-round combination of burgers will be judged the winner and runner-up. Competitors will be required to braai a further eight burgers that will be sold to the public on the day.
All proceeds from the competition and the sale of the burgers will go towards 
sponsoring the transport costs incurred by the FC Ossima football club the under 18 soccer club at Esizameleni, each week in order to compete in the Seme local football league.
Rules of the Competition
You will be required to make gourmet meat patty burgers, assembled by yourself and cooked on a charcoal braai. One of the meat burgers will be used for judging. The rest will be sold to the public. (Note that we may vary these quantities based on the number of entrants.)
We will supply you with 100g beef mincemeat for each of the patties. You will then be required to mix your patties with your own secret selection of herbs and spices and binding agents which you will need to supply. We will supply you with bread rolls and you will be required to assemble your gourmet burgers with all the extras that you feel will set you above the rest. Whereas you may bring along any ingredients that you wish to use, all cooking must be done at the competition on a charcoal braai. You may bring your own braai and charcoal or use one of the supplied braais with supplied charcoal.
The competition will start at 11:15 and you will be required to have your burgers made, cooked and assembled for judging at 12:30. After that you may complete the rest of the burgers that will be provided for sale. The burgers will be sold to the public at approximately R35 a burger and will include chips that we will provide.
Judging of the burgers will be based on criteria of taste, presentation and the special flare that made the cooking experience interesting! The judges’ decision will be final, but they will only make their final decision once they have been suitably influenced by the competitors.
