Die gesoute sanger/liedjieskrywer Jannie du Toit neem die gehoor op ‘n nostalgiese reis met “goue oues” wat gekies is uit sy persoonlike gunstelinge soos musiek van die Beatles, Peter Sarstedt en Ralph McTell. Die immergroen “Those were the days” wat dateer uit sy skooldae, definieer die essensie van hierdie opwindende reis. Hy gaan nog verder terug met die aangrypende Ierse volksliedjie, Galway Bay, en kyk na België deur die oë van die beroemde kabaretkunstenaar Jacques Brel. Ingesluit in die program is van Jannie se eie werk, asook liedjies van ‘n paar van sy hartsvriende – wyle Christa Steyn, Koos du Plessis en Lucas Maree.

Seasoned singer/songwriter Jannie du Toit takes the audience on a nostalgic journey with golden oldies chosen from his personal favourites such as music by the Beatles, Peter Sarstedt and Ralph McTell. The evergreen “Those were the days” which dates back to his school days, defines the essence of this exciting walk down memory lane. He goes back even further in time with the poignant Irish folk anthem, Galway Bay, and looks at Belgium through the eyes of famous cabaretier Jacques Brel. Included in the programme are some of Jannie’s own work as well as songs by some of his very close friends – the late Christa Steyn, Koos du Plessis and Lucas Maree.
Jannie is accompanied by his superb ensemble of the past decade, Susan Mouton (cello) and Chanie Jonker (piano and accordion.)
