This beautifully renovated 100 year old Victorian Guest House is situated on the main tar road as you enter the village of Wakkerstroom. DeKotzenhof is easy to find, and being in the heart of the village; convenient to walk to shops, restaurants, the historical gravesites and buildings, bird hides and the wetlands that Wakkerstroom has to offer. Ample Safe Parking is available behind walls with CCTV cameras.
We are Birder Friendly, and have both a beautiful garden and a natural grassland with a re-created wetland and walking paths, benches and expansive mountain views. Breakfast (Complimentary for Guests Surcharge) is something not to be missed, being delicious wholesome and country-styled. Breakfast packs, Full lunch packs, Snack platters, Birthday Cakes and Picnic baskets can be arranged and Delicious Dinners are prepared on pre-bookings only.
If you are looking for a Guest House where the rooms have everything and more than you need, beds are comfortable, location is oh so convenient; the Owners, who are your hosts are at hand and the food is fantastic, then this is the place to be in Wakkerstroom!

DeKotzenhof offers accommodation for up to 5 couples / 9 singles sharing in sunny luxurious en-suite rooms. Our ‘Honeymoon Suite’ has a Victorian bath in the window, and a large patio with stunning views of historical Ossewakop Mountain. Families can be accommodated in rooms across a passage from each (Children over 6 welcome!)
All rooms are decorated in a trendy Old World style. Tea/Coffee, homemade rusks trays & Amenities are provided. Guests have use of a separate Guest Lounge with Wood burning fire, Cards table, Books, Games and Puzzles for rainy days and relaxing. We do not have TV’s in the rooms, but there are a number of venue’s within walking distance where one can catch up on any not-to-be missed sporting events!
Single night reservations are accommodated during the week and for weekend bookings where the entire Guest House is occupied by one group with dinners included, but other reservations over weekends are subject to a MINIMUM of a 2 night stay.

DEKOTZENHOF RESTAURANT
DeKotzenhof has a 20- Seater Restaurant on site with verandah and garden view and a mountain-view Boma perfect to be booked for history or birding groups, family get-togethers, special birthdays and small private functions.
Tea/Coffee and Cake is served Daily, and delicious 3 Course Set Menus (Dinner) is served but need be pre-booked by 2pm. (Bookings Essential)
Lunches are served on a pre-booking basis by 10am (for a minimum of 6 Guests or more)
DEKOTZENHOF DELI/FARM STALL
There is an on-site Deli/Farm stall where pre-cooked meals, treats and a huge variety of preserves (jams, sauces, spreads etc) Under our new Brands which are made on site from the fruits of our property can be purchased to take home or for the rest of your holiday. On a weekend one gets the smell of freshly baked Sundried tomato or Olive bread. Delicious cakes, milk tarts, lemon meringues, scones, muffins etc can be ordered. Other items available are meat (venison, bacon, lamb chops, pork chops, beef mince, rump steak, kebabs, free-range chickens, cold meat etc), basic vegetables, cheeses, biscuits, butter, cream, garlic, filter coffee, teabags, olive oil etc. DeKotzenhof is an agent for Montego dog and cat food.
DEKOTZENHOF GALLERY
The Gallery in the farm stall/deli showcases artwork in various media or photography by well-known South African and International artists as well as local artists. Most items are for sale, and some artists represented even do commissions. On occasion items of historical value are available. It’s always worth popping in to see what’s new!
DEKOTZENHOF PUTT-PUTT
DeKotzenhof have built a 9-hole Putt Putt Putt – Putt (mini golf) Course which is great fun for both young and old to enjoy. For a mere R35pp a round, R40 pp a round or R50 pp for 2 rounds, it’s great for family or corporate challenges / birthday parties!
