There are numerous courses to choose from but the most popular options for a first course are the “Bread fundamentals” course or the “Introduction to artisan bread and basic shaping” course.
By the end of the day you will be well prepared to start your own bread journey as you will have a sound grasp of the bread making process and the relationship between the bread ingredients.
Courses are run on any day of the week in Country Bread’s stone barn, overlooking the wetlands,
at 35 Vlei Street, Wakkerstroom, Mpumalanga.
Whether you are a novice or have experience in bread making and whether your interest in bread is recreational or business, there is an artisan bread course that is ideal to meet your circumstances. Courses can be structured to suite your requirements and the ages of those who wish to attend. Other bread courses available include Italian ciabattas, French baguettes, sourdough breads, flat breads, enriched breads, health breads and more.
Family courses, half day courses, bread making demonstrations, courses for businesses and gift vouchers are also available.
For each course you will make a number of loaves of bread (or rolls) to take home with you. All equipment and ingredients are provided as are comprehensive notes, refreshments and a lovely country style lunch.
Courses typically start at 10h00 and finish at around 16h30.
Standard courses cost R650 per person with a maximum of 6 people. There is a 50% single supplement. The cost for larger groups, speciality and enriched breads are available on request.
